RightShift<T> Method

The type of the values for the operand operation.
The bit pattern to be shifted.
The number of bits to shift the bit pattern.
Performs an arithmetic right shift (>>) operation.

Parameters

x
The bit pattern to be shifted.
y
The number of bits to shift the bit pattern.

Type Parameters

T
The type of the values for the operand operation.

Return Value

The result of shifting the bit pattern.
Exceptions
ExceptionDescription
TypeArgumentExceptionT is outside the range of allowed types.
Allowed types are: System.Byte, System.Int16, System.Int32, System.SByte, System.UInt16.
Requirements

Target Platforms: Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP1 or later, Windows XP SP3, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core supported with SP1 or later), Windows Server 2003 SP2
